One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK565858\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> published in the National Library of Medicine in 2022 reports, \u201cAlmost 7% of all children will have a least one set of TT by 3 years of age, and approximately 20% of children who receive one set of TT will require a second set at some point in their lives.\u201d In this post, we review how to prepare your child for ear tube surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Before Surgery<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/redriverent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/child-hearing-ear-exam-hearing-loss-02-1280x1078.jpg\" alt=\"African American girl plays with her toy bear in a medical game, using an otoscope. They will go to sleep, then when they wake up, you\u2019ll be with them. After that, they won\u2019t have any more ear pain while playing at Compton Park in Alexandria.<\/li><li><strong>Schedule a tour.<\/strong> Many hospitals and surgical centers would allow you and your child to tour the facilities. This way, your child will be less nervous, as they won\u2019t be in an unfamiliar place on the day of their surgery.<\/li><li><strong>Communicate with their care team.<\/strong> During the consultation appointment with the care team, make sure to tell them about all the medications, vitamins, supplements and herbal remedies your child takes.
